Rice University’s Department of Statistics is dedicated to the advancement of the scientific discipline of statistics, the innovative application of statistics to meet modern scientific, engineering and societal challenges, the expert education of students in statistics and other disciplines, and statistical leadership in the local, national and international communities.

Applications are currently being accepted to fill 2 full-time, 12-month postdoctoral fellow positions (with a maximum of 2 annual renewals given continued service) at the Department of Statistics in the School of Engineering, Rice University or at the Biostatistics Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

The proposed starting date is April 1, 2020. This is funded from an NIH-NCI T32 Training Grant. U.S. citizens or permanent residents only. The postdoctoral fellows will be mentored by qualified faculty members at Rice University or MD Anderson Cancer Center with possible co-mentorship from other institutions of the Texas Medical Center. Position Qualifications A Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field. Extensive experience with R and Python is strongly desirable. Candidates should also have a background in modeling, multivariate data, statistical learning and working with big data. U.S. citizens or permanent residents only.
