The Department of Mathematics at Universidad Andres Bello, in Santiago de Chile, calls for applications for up to three positions at the Associate or Assistant professor level (depending on the credentials of the applicant), to start preferably in August 2020. Update: the starting date has been postponed due to the COVID19 crisis) to August 2021. We are collecting applications through January 31st.

Our Department conducts research on the following areas

Algebraic Combinatorics, Graph Theory; Algorithms/Complexity and Foundations of Computable Mathematics; Dynamical systems, Ergodic Theory, Complex Dynamics; Geometric Analysis, Probability Theory and Stochastic Analysis.

Applications in Machine Learning and related fields are particularly welcome.

The candidate should have received a Ph.D. degree and demonstrate an excellent record in both research and teaching during the last five years.

We offer a pleasant and inspiring environment, with a competitive salary (depending on the applicant’s credentials). ​The teaching load is adjusted every year and depends on the applicant's productivity and scientific leadership. Typically, an active researcher has 5 hours of direct teaching per week. However, the candidate is expected to actively engage in the development of our undergraduate and graduate programs, and in the coordination and implementation of innovative learning methods.
