The Department of Mathematics at Colorado State University seeks applications for a postdoctoral position in the Applications of Mathematics to Data Science. The ideal applicant will have a PhD in any area of Mathematics, pure or applied, and possess a strong interest to train as a Data Scientist. This includes an interest in developing skills in Machine Learning, programming (Python, C++ and cuda) and working directly with knowledge discovery from large biological data sets. The postdoc will be appointed in the Department of Mathematics at Colorado State University working under the supervision of Dr. Michael Kirby. They will be collaborating with a research team including an industrial sponsor who is supporting the project. The project is anticipated to be one year with the possibility of renewal.
