UC Davis, NC State, and K-State Olathe Postdoc Associates in Data Science and Machine Learning Purpose of the position: The Schools of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis and NC State, and 1DATA Consortium at K-State Olathe seek applications for two to three postdoctoral scholars in the area of data science at 100% time. We are looking for researchers whose interests are in data science in veterinary medicine data and VetGram, and a researcher with a methodological and application focus. The fellows will be requested with the opportunity to pursue the FARAD and 1DATA research in an intellectually vibrant environment with ample mentorship. The appointment is performed in UC Davis, NC State, and K-State Olathe; therefore, the successful applicants are expected to relocate to these research labs. We are looking for independent researchers who will help conduct research in machine learning to extract and clean data from different resources, build, and be an integral part of our FARAD-1DATA program. The incumbent to these positions would be responsible for the initial configuration and implementation of an API platform for bibliometric analysis. This is envisioned as a multipurpose platform that will integrate and analyze disparate sources of safe withdrawal intervals of drugs and chemicals in food-producing animals from Food Animal Residue Avoidance Databank (www.FARAD.org) using 1DATA tools (www.1DATA.life) to analyze the data. Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Applicants must be outstanding, intellectually curious researchers at an early stage of their scholarly career. Applicants should have demonstrated a capacity for independent work and will be expected to engage with researchers and faculty and participate in activities convened by our Initiative. The successful candidate will have earned a doctoral degree in a field such as data science, biomedical sciences, statistics and mathematics, computer science, or engineering.
