Kiel University seeks to attract more qualified women for professorships.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Kiel University invites applications for a

 

Professorship (W 3) in Algebra

 

at the Department of Mathematics to be filled by October 1, 2021. The future post holder should represent the field of algebra in research and teaching.

Potential candidates should be internationally recognized and have an outstanding research record in active areas of algebra. Their expertise in pure mathematics should complement the existing branches of algebra at Kiel University.

Duties include research and teaching at the Department of Mathematics, also for students of other faculties. It is expected that the candidate will be able to teach in both German and English within a reasonable period of time. Furthermore, the successful candidate should be willing to participate in the administration of the department and to serve on faculty committees.

Teaching duties are based on the latest State Regulations for Teaching at Universities (LVVO) of the State of Schleswig-Holstein.

The position is opened with respect to § 61 and § 63, Section 1, of the Higher Education Act of the State of Schleswig-Holstein.
