Position Description:    

The Department of Mathematics at the California Institute of Technology invites applications for Noether and Olga Taussky-John Todd Instructorships in Mathematics, beginning September 2021.

 

Noether/Taussky-Todd Instructorships will be offered to candidates within three years of having received their PhD who show strong research promise, preferably in one of the areas in which a Caltech Mathematics Faculty is currently active.

 

Appointments are normally for three years.  Appointees will be expected to fulfill teaching duties (two one-quarter courses in the first and third year, three in the second year), pursue their own research program, and be in residence even when not teaching.  Summer can be used for one-month vacation, research and other scholarly activities.

 

These positions will be offered if funds are available.
