The Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU) is an internationally oriented and regionally networked university with a strong research profile.

The Faculty of Natural Sciences seeks to fill the following vacancy at the Institute of Biology, Dept. of Cognitive Biology:

Doctoral or Postdoctoral position (m/f/d) in decision-making and multi-stable perception: computational modelling, functional imaging, primate neurophysiology

Applications are invited for a research fellowship with Jochen Braun in Magdeburg, Germany. The research will examine the neural basis of decision making and of multi-stable perception, by comparing computational models of hierarchical neural dynamics with functional imaging activity in humans. Additionally, there will be the possibility of comparing single- and multi-unit recordings from non-human primates, in collaboration with Prof. Kristine Krug, Magdeburg, Germany.

Candidates must have a master degree or similar in physics, and strong quantitative and writing skills. Postdoctoral applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., neuroscience, physiology, physics). Prior experience with highdimensional data analysis and/or with single- or multi-unit recordings from behaving vertebrates is desirable. Successful candidates will be required to assist teaching at the master level.

The initial appointment will be for two years with the possibility of renewal.
