Postdoc in Multiscale Materials Modeling and Computing

A postdoctoral position under the direction of Professor Mitchell Luskin is available at the University of Minnesota to participate in the development and analysis of multi-scale methods for new materials based on layered 2D heterostructures. This position is supported by an NSF DMREF grant and involves collaboration with physicists at Minnesota and Harvard. We seek a candidate with a strong background in any of partial differential equations, mathematical physics, numerical analysis and computation, although all strong candidates with an interest in this project will be seriously considered. The candidate will teach one semester course per term. The preferred start date is during the summer of 2021. The initial duration is two years, with possible extensions depending on availability of funds. Applications will be reviewed starting December 1, 2020 and will continue until the position is filled.
