The Fields Institute invites applications for a Simons Distinguished Visitor for the Fall of 2021 or Winter 2022. This prestigious six-month appointment will provide a world-renowned researcher with a unique opportunity to work at the Fields Institute with many Canadian and international colleagues on a research project of their choosing, which may or may not be associated with the Thematic Program running at that time. The Simons Distinguished Visitor is expected to be in residence at Fields for the semester, and to give an advanced research level course. In addition to a US$100,000 salary and US$25,000 for living expenses, the Simons Distinguished Visitor will be provided with US$36,000 to support graduate students or postdoctoral fellows under their supervision who will join them in Toronto. 

The Simons Distinguished Visitor will be selected by a committee chaired by the Directors of the Fields Institute, in consultation with the Fields Institute Scientific Advisory Panel.
