Teaching Fellow in Mathematics

Full Time :

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £40,125 - £43,533 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

The Department of Mathematics of UCL invites applications from candidates for a Teaching Fellow post.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching of mathematics at undergraduate level, including producing course materials for remote teaching, lecturing and examining of courses, project supervision and giving tutorials.

This is an open ended post and is available as soon as possible but at the latest by 4th January 2021.This post is suitable for part-time appointments and we would welcome such applicants.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate teaching ability in mathematics at undergraduate or master level and have the interpersonal skills required to work well with students and academic colleagues. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills. They will also have the ability to master the technical challenges related to online teaching of mathematics. They will be able to deliver Mathematics lectures at undergraduate level and deliver tutorials and lectures remotely via Microsoft Teams, be able to teach undergraduate tutorials and adapt to remote teaching using relevant technology including (but not limited to) Moodle and Microsoft Teams. The successful candidate should be committed to high quality teaching and fostering a positive learning environment for students and ability to supervise academic work by undergraduate students.

Outstanding candidates will demonstrate experience in use of technology for teaching and using STACK for online teaching and assessment. They will have a PhD or equivalent qualification in mathematics or related subject area and have experience of teaching mathematics at undergraduate level.
