A Post-doctoral Associate position is available in Mathematics to work on a project in applied topology led by Dr. Peter Bubenik in the Department of Mathematics. The position is being funded by the new NSF/Simons Southeast Center in Mathematics and Biology. The teaching assignment is one course per academic year. There will be time to develop the mathematics of applied topology. The main collaboration will be with Dr. Hang Lu, Love Family Professor of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Tech, applying topological data analysis to her lab's data. The postdoc will also have the opportunity to help mentor the students in Bubenik’s research group - currently 3 PhD students and three undergraduates. The applicant must have a PhD in Mathematics. This position will be initially awarded for one year, and, contingent upon strong performance, conduct, and availability of funds, may be renewed for up to three years.
