Applications are invited for a postdoctoral
position at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of
Vienna in the group on ''Variational Methods and
Applications'' led by Paolo Piovano (https://www.univie.ac.at/variationalmethods/). The position is
funded through the project "Mathematical Modeling of Bone
Engineering'' (MAMBOing) in the framework of the FWF 1000
Ideas Program (https://www.fwf.ac.at/en/news-and-media-relations/news/detail/nid/20200722-2545/?tx_rsmnews_detail%5Bref%5D=l&cHash=5469250fdce38723840a799f10709cbb).
Applications from candidates with preparation/expertise in the
areas of calculus of variations, PDEs, and discrete models are
especially welcomed. Also candidates with expertise in
numerics are encouraged to apply. The successful
candidate will be employed for an initial fixed term of one
year, which can be extended to two. The salary will be in line
with the standard personnel costs from FWF (https://www.fwf.ac.at/en/research-funding/personnel-costs/).
The position includes no teaching load and the starting date
is flexible.
