Department of Mathematical Sciences at Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple open rank tenured/tenure-track faculty positions to start in August 2022. Applications in all areas of mathematics including applied mathematics, scientific computing, dynamical systems are welcome. Candidates are expected to show outstanding promise in research, as well as strong interest and ability in teaching a diverse student body. Department of Mathematical Sciences is a part of the College of Engineering and Science – Florida Tech’s largest college. Applicants with the ability to collaborate across disciplinary boundaries and secure research funding from diverse sources are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities: Develop a research program with international stature and scholarly recognition through publications and other modes of disseminating ideas. Develop a robust portfolio of externally funded support for research and training. Supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Teach two courses per semester, usually at the upper-division and graduate levels. Develop and deliver course materials to undergraduate and graduate students in traditional, hybrid, and online platforms demonstrating teaching excellence and high-impact scholarship. Contribute both institutionally and professionally through active service. Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. degree in mathematics or a related area by the start of the appointment. Applicants should demonstrate accomplishments in research, potential to attract external funding, and strong commitment to excellence in teaching, service, and mentorship at the undergraduate and graduate level. We are interested in applicants who can establish interdisciplinary collaborations and industry connections through their research program. Having a post-doctoral and/or funded research experience is a plus.
