The Department of Information and Mathematical Sciences in the College of Business, Influence, and Information Analysis (CBIAA) at Rockhurst University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Mathematics beginning in August 2021.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. ABD status candidates will be considered, but Ph.D. is required by the time of appointment. Candidates with the experience necessary to teach a range of probability and statistics courses are particularly encouraged to apply. We are searching for candidates with a strong commitment to actively engaging students in the learning process through innovative and equitable teaching practices (inquiry based/oriented learning, active learning, mastery based grading, etc.) and through the use of technology. In addition, we look for candidates interested in engaging students with various mathematics backgrounds in undergraduate research. Teaching responsibilities will include the full range of undergraduate courses and are equivalent to 18 credit hours per year.

Two of the references should be able to address the candidate’s teaching and at least one must be able to address ways in which the candidate has shown initiative.
