The Department of Mathematics within the Division of Physical Sciences at UC San Diego (http://math.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position (also termed Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment or LPSOE) beginning July 1, 2021. This faculty series, which is unique to the University of California system, carries full membership in the Academic Senate with comparable rights and responsibilities as the standard professorial track, but with a greater emphasis on teaching and educational scholarship. Successful candidates will be expected to assume a leadership role in the Department’s undergraduate teaching mission in a number of respects, including teaching and coordinating the teaching of key undergraduate courses in statistics, as well as contributing to University and public service. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on UC pay scales. The starting date for the position, pending funding approval, will be July 1, 2021.
