The Mathematics Business and Accounting Programs Unit in the Office of the Dean in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo invites applications for two definite-term Lecturer positions in the Mathematics Business and Accounting Programs Unit. These appointments will have an initial term of three years with the possibility of renewal. The appointed Lecturers may be considered for promotion to an on-going appointment thereafter as Continuing Lecturer if they demonstrate outstanding performance in teaching and service. The expected start date is September 1, 2021. A PhD or a ??Masters degree and evidence of excellence in teaching are required. Applicants with a background in statistics, actuarial science, finance, computer science, information technology management or the mathematics of business will be preferred. Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate mathematics education and excellent organizational and communication skills. Duties will include teaching six courses per year and service/administrative work within the University. Service activities will focus on management of the Faculty’s extensive undergraduate programs in the intersection of Mathematics, Computer Science and Business. Teaching will take place in both face-to-face and online classes. The salary range for the position is $80,000 – $125,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
