Mathematics - Visiting Professor
Division of Science and Math
NYU Abu Dhabi

The Division of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi is searching for accomplished visiting faculty in Mathematics to educate the next generation of global leaders.  Multidisciplinary research and exceptional teaching in a highly diverse and inclusive campus community are hallmarks of the University’s mission.

NYUAD values diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity; such principles are fundamental to the university's commitment to excellence.  Our faculty are the engines that sustain our inclusive environment; NYUAD students come from more than 115 countries, with no single one nationality exceeding more than 15 percent of the total student population. Likewise, our faculty are highly diverse and community-minded: our modern campus is home to over 320 faculty who represent more than 45 different nationalities, all of whom bring a global perspective to their classrooms and research projects. Research is advanced by over 400 highly qualified research staff, who are likewise drawn from all over the world.

Applicants holding a PhD, with teaching experience in all areas of mathematics, both pure and applied, are welcome to apply. Candidates are expected to be excellent teachers of undergraduate courses. The visiting position is typically for one academic year and the expected teaching load is four courses. The classes are relatively small and typically have at most 24 students.

Faculty in the Program in Mathematics have strong ties to NYU Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. Current interests of the faculty include mathematical physics (especially statistical mechanics and geometric, topological, and conformal aspects of field theories), nonlinear PDEs, functional analysis, and representation theory. Faculty contribute to multidisciplinary research, potentially working with scholars from other programs in areas that include cryptography, bioinformatics, and biostatistics, data science, environmental science, and climate change, among others.

Faculty have access to state-of-the-art core facilities that include robotics and high performance computing facilities with more than 6,400 computing cores and a peak performance of 70 TFLOPS. To obtain further information about research and core facilities at NYU Abu Dhabi, click here.

The environment in the Math Program is congenial and we encourage cooperation and support collaboration among all members.
