Teaching Position in Mathematics The Virginia Military Institute Department of Applied Mathematics invites applications for a three-year, full-time, non-tenure track teaching position. This position is designed for individuals with a teaching career in mind and emphasizes teaching and scholarly activities pertaining to teaching and teaching pedagogy. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach a variety of undergraduate courses and to participate in curriculum reform/development and projects with undergraduates. The teaching load will be four 3-credit courses per semester, but with a small number of preps. This position may be renewed beyond the initial, three-year term. The appointment begins 1 August 2021 and requires a minimum of a master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field; Ph.D. is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching undergraduate mathematics and/or statistics. All faculty members are required to wear a military uniform; however, military experience is not required.
