A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Hisham Sati at New York University Abu Dhabi. The proposed research would ideally be interdisciplinary on the interactions between topology, geometry and physics, but emphasis on one area, e.g. algebraic topology, is also possible. The research position is initially for two years, but extensions to longer terms are possible upon review. Research funds will be made available and there will also be opportunities for (co-)teaching and (co-)mentoring of students. 

The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a relevant field, and ideally will have expertise in at least one of the following areas: homotopy theory, higher differential geometry, mathematical physics. Previous projects with postdocs were on differential refinements of generalized cohomology theories and their applications in physics (Daniel Grady) and on parametrized homotopy theory in physics (Vincent Braunack-Mayer). The current project can be in one of several related directions, depending on the candidate. 

We have an active research group, which includes Urs Schreiber as another senior member. 

The start date for the position will be August 2021 and screening will begin in March 2021.
