Dr. Olena Karpel is looking to fill a 2-year postdoctoral position in her research team, funded by National Science Center (NCN Poland) grant entitled "Cantor dynamical systems and their classification" (2020-2023). Salary: 120.000 PLN/year (gross), including Health Insurance (depending on several variables the net salary would be approx. 80.000 PLN/year). 

Description: The position carries no teaching duties. The candidate will work on problems related to the goals of the project, including (but not limited to) the following areas: 

1) Cantor dynamical systems, 
2) ergodic invariant measures, 
3) orbit equivalence, 
4) Bratteli diagrams. 

He/she will be expected to work effectively within the project team, to have the ability to develop and apply new concepts, write scientific papers, and present their results at meetings and conferences abroad. The position comes with a travel funding of 10 000 PLN/year, and additional travel funding opportunities are expected during the stay. After the 24-month period it is expected that there may be further employment opportunities at AGH, depending on the results obtained. 

Qualifications: A) PhD in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics obtained no earlier than in 2016. B) B2-level (CEFRL) proficiency in English. C) Preference will be given to candidates with experience in any of the areas 1-4.
