The Department of Mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a full-time, one-year postdoctoral position, to start as early as June and no later than August 2021. This is a non-teaching position supported by a grant from the Swartz Foundation. The applicant will be expected to perform research in theoretical neuroscience and hyperbolic geometry with co-supervisors Jonathan Victor (Weil Cornell Medical Center) and Jason DeBlois (the University of Pittsburgh), and their students and collaborators. Desired qualifications are expertise in hyperbolic geometry or a related field and an interest in neuroscience. (One goal of this project is to recruit a promising theoretician to neuroscience.) Applicants must have a PhD by the position start date. Applications must include a research statement, curriculum vitae, three or more letters of recommendation, and a cover letter describing the candidate’s interest in the position. Applications should be submitted by March 31, 2021 for full consideration. |
