The New Jersey Center for Science, Technology & Mathematics at Kean University is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach core undergraduate coursework in mathematics, programming and statistics. The successful candidate will provide student and learning support services in a vibrant teaching and research environment dedicated to preparing a new generation of innovators for successful careers as professional scientists, physicians and educators. Teaching includes lecture and lab courses that are part of the integrated core curriculum for all students in the STEM program. The establishment of a research program is also expected. The Assistant Professor will lead a research stream as part of the Research First Initiative and oversee independent research projects for undergraduate and graduate students. Knowledge of curriculum development, research practice and scientific methodology is required.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Mathematics or other related STEM field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is required. Candidates with experience in teaching first and second year undergraduate students are preferred.

This is a ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignment at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective for the Fall 2021 semester. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations. All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Proficiency in the Learning Management System, Blackboard and Online Learning Pedagogy is required, consistent with University guidelines.
