The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at James Madison University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant

Professor/Instructor position, starting August 2021. The department includes approximately 50 faculty and offers Bachelor’s degrees in

Duties include teaching up to 15 credit hours per semester and department service. Teaching assignments will include sections of

courses in Statistical Literacy and Introductory Statistics.


Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics (or the equivalent thereof). Some graduate work in Statistics is preferred. We are especially interested in candidates who have a demonstrated commitment towards building a learning environment geared towards equity and inclusion.
