The Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida invites applications for one full-time, time-limited, twelve-month non-tenure accruing faculty position at the level of Lecturer to begin August 16, 2021. The successful candidate will serve as the Coordinator of Instruction for UF Online (UFO) (https://ufonline.ufl.edu/) in the Department of Mathematics. As such they will be expected to teach two mathematics courses for UFO each term (fall, spring, summer) and to work across the department and with departmental leadership to ensure the delivery of excellent courses for UF Online students. The coordinator will also be responsible for the timely redevelopment of all math courses taught by the department for UFO following a timeline established in conjunction with the Center for Online Innovation and Production (COIP), UFO, and the chair of the department.

UF Online currently ranks #3 in the U.S. News & World Report rankings of online bachelor’s programs, with many majors rated #1. The Department of Mathematics has provided courses to UFO since its inception and currently offers 10 courses to the program each semester, ranging from Basic College Algebra through Calculus III and Computational Linear Algebra. As Coordinator for UFO Instruction in the department, the successful candidate will serve as a liaison between students, the department, and UFO, recruit colleagues to teach and develop courses, and engage with university stakeholders to evaluate the quality and efficacy of UFO mathematics offerings.

Candidates should have extensive teaching experience, including a history of successful online teaching. A Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a closely related field is required. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package.
