The Department of Mathematics at Rider University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, Lecturer position starting in Fall 2021. Rider is a private university located near Princeton, NJ, and within easy driving distance or train ride to New York City and Philadelphia.

The Department of Mathematics seeks to attract faculty that will contribute to teaching and departmental service. While not required for the position, an established scholarly research agenda in Mathematics is welcomed. The Department serves a number of constituencies from the sciences and education, as well as mathematics and liberal arts majors. The Department offers a wide range of courses from developmental mathematics through upper-level special topics.

The Lecturer position will require a 4/4 teaching load over two, 13-week semesters. The Lecturer will primarily serve students taking the general education math requirements (e.g., Intermediate Algebra, Finite Math, Algebra & Trigonometry and Calculus) but may also include courses in the individual’s area of expertise.

The successful candidate for the Lecturer position will be hired to an initial one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal for up to three years.

Position Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Mathematics is required; significant college teaching experience is preferred.
