Assistant
or Associate Professor in Quantum Frontiers Position
# 30387 The Department of
Mathematics invites applications for a full-time tenured or tenure-track position
at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, commencing 1 July 2022, or on a
date mutually agreed upon. Exceptional candidates at any level will also be
considered. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and
qualifications. The Department
seeks an emerging scholar with a commitment to excellence in research and
teaching. Outstanding candidates in any area of Mathematics that contributes to
our understanding of the mathematics of Quantum theory will be considered. Some examples of research areas include, but are not limited
to, geometric quantization, non-commutative algebra/algebraic geometry,
operator algebras, quantum computing, quantum control, quantum graphs, quantum
groups, quantum information and quantum topology. The successful
candidate will have a Ph.D. and preferably post-doctoral experience or other
distinguishing attributes in Mathematics or a related field. The successful
candidate will have a track record of high-quality scholarly research leading
to peer-assessed publications; will either have, or demonstrate the potential
to establish, an independent, innovative, scholarly, externally fundable
research program; will have demonstrated strength in or strong potential for
outstanding teaching contributions; and will exhibit evidence of the ability to
work in a collaborative environment. Duties will include research with the
expectation of establishing an externally funded research program,
undergraduate teaching, graduate teaching and supervision, and service-related
activities.. To enhance our department and create role models for a diverse

currently has 23 full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members and 9
Instructors, and offers a full range of both undergraduate and graduate
programs in mathematics and its applications. The Department has a
well-established and equipped research facility, including computers, software
and IT support, and is supported by strong research links with other University
of Manitoba departments including the Departments of Biological Sciences,
Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics and Astronomy,
