The Gauge Theory and Algebraic Geometry (GTAG) research group invites applications for a post-doctoral position in gauge theory and special geometries at the University of Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil, under the supervision of Henrique Sá Earp. The position is for 2 years, renewable for up to two additional years. We look for a candidate with a research profile along the following lines: gauge theory, particularly instantons and monopoles in Yang-Mills theory, metrics with special holonomy, moduli spaces, special geometric structures and related topics in geometric analysis and Riemannian geometry. This is a research-only position, with no expected teaching or administrative duties, funded by the Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) under the Thematic Project “Gauge Theory and Algebraic Geometry”. Benefits include: monthly stipend of BRL 7,373 (tax free); an additional 15% of total yearly stipend for research-related expenses; start-up costs, including air travel and one extra pay; maternity and paternity leave; pending approval by FAPESP, paid leave of up to 1 year to visit any research institution in the world. The starting date is flexible, between August and December 2021.
