The Collaborative Research Centre 1442 “Geometry: Deformations and Rigidity” in the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Münster (WWU), Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a


Postdoctoral Research Associate
Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in
(salary level TV-L E 13, 100%)


commencing on 1 September 2021 or later and continuing until 30 June 2024. We are offering a fixed-term full-time position. Currently, the regular full employment time is 39 hours and 50 minutes per week.


The position is in Aleksandra Kwiatkowska's CRC-project C05 “Rigidity of group topologies and universal minimal flows”. The general topic of this project is: automatic continuity for Polish groups and universal minimal flows for groups acting on dendrites.


The successful candidate will benefit from the stimulating environment and facilities of the Cluster of Excellence "Mathematics Münster: Dynamics – Geometry – Structure".


Research tasks:

  • collaboration with the externally funded project C5 “Rigidity of group topologies anduniversal minimal flows”
  • contribution to research and teaching


Requirement profile:

  • Candidates must have completed, or be about to complete, their PhD in a field ofmathematical logic.
  • Experience with one or more of the following is expected: descriptive set theory, Polishgroups, applications of Ramsey theory to topological dynamics.
  • Very good English communication skills are required.
  • German language skills would be advantageous, but are not a requirement
