Assistant Professor of Mathematics

Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, is seeking applications for a non-tenure-track, two-year, faculty position in the Mathematics Department to start August 1, 2021. The successful candidate will teach in a student-centered small department and contribute to the activities of the department. Responsibilities of the position involve developing and teaching undergraduate courses for pre-service teachers and general education courses. Teaching load is generally four courses each semester. Candidates must also demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Other expectations include service to the department and college including advising mathematics education majors, supervising student projects, and committee participation. Research in the candidate’s field is expected.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mathematics or mathematics education with a BA or BS in mathematics or equivalent field. ABD candidates will be considered. A candidate with a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education and teaching experience at the college level is preferred. Experience teaching mathematics at the middle or high school level is beneficial.
