Pomona College seeks applicants for a non-tenure track, two-year teaching position in the mathematical sciences, with preference given to statistics or related data fields, to work in the Department of Mathematics. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Visiting Assistant Professor with an effective start date of July 1, 2021; in-person instruction begins Fall 2021. This position carries a 3-2 teaching load or equivalent teaching duties. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching and research and will be excited about mentoring students. The successful candidate will have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving higher education for underrepresented students. Pomona College is a highly selective liberal arts college, near Los Angeles, with approximately 1,671 students, consisting of an equal number of men and women from all 50 states and 59 countries (http://www.pomona.edu). It is a member of the Claremont Colleges, a consortium of seven institutions with over fifty active mathematicians. Please see the Claremont Center for the Mathematical Sciences web page (http://ccms.claremont.edu/) for more information about the Claremont mathematics activities. Apply for the position via MathJobs.org. A complete application will include a curriculum vitae, graduate transcripts, three or more letters of recommendation (at least one of which evaluates teaching), a statement of teaching philosophy, a description, for the non-specialist, of research accomplishments and plans, plus a diversity statement. Applications which are complete by May 31, 2021, will receive full consideration. In line with our goal to cultivate a diverse and inclusive campus community, we are interested in recruiting an applicant pool which mirrors the rich diversity of our student body.
