Postdoctoral Position in Applied and Computational Mathematics
Department of Mathematics, Simon Fraser University 

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in Applied and Computational Mathematics, with an aim to develop accurate and efficient numerical algorithms for solving nonlinear PDEs arising from fluid mechanics and other continuum models in physics and biology. This position will be under the supervision of John Stockie and Nilima Nigam, and more information about current research projects can be found on their web pages:

YOUR PROFILE 

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in applied mathematics or a closely related discipline, a solid background in PDEs and scientific computing, and demonstrated potential for outstanding research. Some prior experience with high-performance computing and/or mathematical modeling is also required. 

WHAT WE OFFER 

The base salary is $55,000 Canadian plus benefits, which includes a commitment to teach a one-semester undergraduate mathematics course. This position is for one year, renewable for an additional year subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds. The successful candidate is expected to begin on September 1, 2021 although the start date is negotiable.
