About the Bard High School Early College Queens

Bard High School Early College Queens, a partnership of Bard College and the NYC Department of Education, invites applications for a full-time or part-time position in the mathematics department. This position will begin in September 2021.

The successful applicant will be able to teach Mathematics classes in both a high school-level and as well as a college-level setting. BHSEC, a national model in public school reform, enables talented and highly motivated students to graduate with an associate of arts (A.A.) degree from Bard College and a NYS Regents diploma within four years.  The academic program emphasizes a commitment to teaching a diverse student body in a liberal arts environment. The compensation for teaching these four classes is based on the NYC DOE salary scale for long-term substitutes.

The Mathematics program at BHSEC Queens cultivates in students a deep understanding of the mathematics, the tools to choose among many possible approaches to a problem, and the language to articulate concepts and methods.

Experience teaching younger students and a commitment to scholarship are desirable.
