The Department of Mathematics at Tufts University invites applicants for a postdoctoral fellow in mathematical data science to start September 1, 2022. A PhD in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field is required.

The fellow will work closely on problems in mathematical data science and computational chemistry and will collaborate with the Murphy group in mathematics and the Lin group in chemistry at Tufts. Successful candidates will have strong experience in one or more of the following subfields: high-dimensional statistics and probability, machine learning, harmonic analysis, graph theory, and molecular dynamics simulation. While there is no teaching requirement, the fellow will have the option to teach up to 2 classes per year in the Department of Mathematics. Active participation in research group meetings, seminars, and colloquia is expected. The position will last two years, with the possibility of a third year.
