The Department of Radiological Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Scholar, preferably with a background in some combination of applied mathematics, image processing, machine learning, algorithm design, and software development.

Our group is seeking a highly competent postdoctoral researcher to join the research team and investigate topics related to disease assessment and modeling utilizing clinical imaging modalities (e.g. MRI, CT). This position is available immediately.

Our group works with a variety of imaging modalities to study topics ranging from fluid mechanics to epidemiology. A general focus is personalized medicine, both in terms of optimizing disease management, and tailoring treatment to the individual patient. Under the direction of the PI, the postdoc will work on a multidisciplinary team with scientists, leading physicians and their clinical patients at the state-of-the-art facilities of UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital.

Your primary duty will be to design novel algorithms to assess disease from medical images and implement software that may ultimately be translated to a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of publication in relevant fields.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in applied mathematics, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field and have extensive computer programming experience.
