The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Irvine invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Teaching. This is an open-rank position and outstanding candidates who qualify for a more senior level will be considered. Candidates will need to self-select the appropriate level for which they are applying. The position will start July 1, 2022 or later. An excellent record of teaching and outreach activities and Ph.D. degree are required.

This is a full-time faculty position designed for individuals who wish to focus their careers on teaching, professional and educational activities, and University and public service. The Professor of Teaching series requires, in addition to excellent teaching and service, that the candidate makes outstanding and recognized contributions to the development of their specific discipline and/or pedagogy.

Faculty in the Professor of Teaching series are members of the University of California Academic Senate and have all the usual benefits of Senate membership, such as eligibility for UCI's attractive faculty housing programs, medical and retirement benefits. Specific duties include the development and implementation of new courses and curricula at the undergraduate level and leadership roles in undergraduate activities and advising, in community outreach activities and in improving instructional resources. The selected candidate will be expected to be involved in the submission of grants, attend relevant professional meetings, review programs, submit journal articles, and serve as chair in symposia at professional meetings.
