The Department of Mathematics at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver) invites applications for up to two Teaching Project Postdoctoral Fellowships. Appointment is expected to be for two years, with review after one year. Teaching Project Postdoctoral Fellows will have two complementary roles in the department: teaching four courses per academic year, and completing a substantial and sustainable teaching project with broad impact on undergraduate teaching. Some potential projects are described briefly at https://www.math.ubc.ca/research/research-topics/mathematics-education Applicants are also invited to propose new projects, or to describe ongoing projects that would support the teaching mission of the Department of Mathematics. Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent in Mathematics or a closely related field, and must provide evidence of effective mathematics teaching at the university level; experience with teaching innovation and the study of teaching and learning is desirable. Applicants should submit a cover letter; a CV; and a teaching portfolio, including a statement of teaching philosophy. Applicants should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent. All letters should address classroom teaching ability, and at least two letters should address the candidate’s ability to carry out teaching projects.
