The Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida invites applications for 2 (two) lecturer positions to begin on August 16, 2022. The appointments are full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-accruing, and renewable annually. Candidates must have substantial interest in lower level curriculum development. Experience with both live and online teaching formats is a plus. The University of Florida is ranked among the top five public institutions by US News & World Report and the department’s lecturers play a crucial role in the university’s efforts to provide a world-class educational experience to its undergraduate students. The department has engaged in innovative course development in recent years and these new hires will have an opportunity to further develop the curriculum in collaboration with existing faculty.

Lecturers play a crucial role in our dynamic instructional enterprise by bringing subject expertise and commitment to excellence in teaching to bear in educating our exceptional undergraduates. In recognition of their importance to the university’s mission, lecturers enjoy significant professional development opportunities, including a well-defined promotion structure, a professional development leave program, and access to travel funds for conference presentations. Summer teaching, both in-person and online, is available. A Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field with substantial coursework in mathematics (at least 18 credit hours of graduate mathematics courses) is required prior to the start of the appointment. Candidates should have a record of success in curriculum development and innovative teaching. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package.
