Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Scholar with a Ph.D. in statistics, machine learning, or other areas of data science and experience in programming languages R or C/C++. Experience with dependent data (network, spatial, or spatio-temporal data) and interest in applications to network data are desirable. The starting date is flexible and the salary is competitive. The Postdoctoral Scholar is expected to be based in the Department of Statistics at the University of Missouri, Columbia, but the research will be conducted in collaboration with the University of New South Wales, Sydney and the University of Melbourne, Australia. If conditions allow, extended visits of the University of New South Wales, Sydney and the University of Melbourne, Australia will be facilitated. Background: The Department of Statistics at the University of Missouri, Columbia has emerged as one of the leading centers in the statistical analysis of dependent data, with cutting-edge expertise in the statistical analysis of spatial, spatio-temporal, and network data. The University of New South Wales, Sydney and the University of Melbourne are powerhouses in science and engineering. Interested candidates submit (1) a cover letter; (2) an up-to-date CV; (3) a two-page statement of research experience and research interests; (4) two representative papers or a draft of a Ph.D. thesis; and (5) contact details for three references to Michael Schweinberger (email: michael.schweinberger@missouri.edu). |
