Assistant Professor of Statistics

Penn State Behrend invites applications for a tenure-line faculty position in statistics at the Assistant Professor rank to begin August 2022.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment in Statistics, Data Science, or in an alternative science field (provided they also hold a M.S in Statistics or Data Science). All candidates should have research experience as demonstrated by publications, presentations, or products related to the practice of statistics/data analytics.

Applicants must have at least one year of undergraduate teaching experience. Responsibilities will include teaching courses across multiple formats (including online) in support of our existing statistics minor, mathematics major, and upcoming data analytics major. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active research program in an area of statistics, with potential to mentor undergraduate research students. Three of the college's strategic research focus areas include women's health (in partnership with the Magee Women's Research Institute), Great Lakes ecosystem health, and polymer engineering and science.
