The Department of Mathmematics at Florida State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Interdisciplinary Mathematics with a start date of August 2022. Responsibilities include research, teaching and mentoring at both graduate and undergraduate levels, and performing various service efforts. Candidates should have a proven track record in interdisciplinary research, as demonstrated by collaborative interactions with investigators outside of the field of mathematics. An interest in developing new courses to expand on current interdisciplinary courses in the department is also expected. Candidates should have a doctoral degree or the highest degree appropriate from an accredited institution in Mathematics or a related discipline with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Postdoctoral experience is required.

It is adjacent to the Apalachicola National Forest and about twenty-five miles from the Gulf of Mexico, with easy access to pristine beaches and other natural habitats. Tallahassee has a warm climate, with an annual average high temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit and an annual average low temperature of 56 degrees Fahrenheit.
