Description. The Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington invites applications for a (postdoctoral) Pearson Fellow in the research group of Professor Jingwei Hu. The position is for two years and has a teaching load of three one-quarter courses per year (this is equivalent to two semester courses), starting in September 2022. Research topics of interest include the numerical methods for kinetic equations and related models, and their applications to various science and engineering disciplines.


Qualifications. PhD in applied/computational math or computational science. Ideal candidates will have strong past experience in numerical analysis and scientific computing. Experience in numerical simulation of kinetic and complex systems is preferred but not required.
