Instructional-Track Assistant Professor of Statistics

The University of Rochester’s Statistics Program seeks applications for the position of a full-time instructional-track (non-tenure) assistant professor. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for teaching who will contribute to our undergraduate Statistics curriculum and growing Data Science master’s program. A successful candidate will be expected to have strong teaching skills and to demonstrate a thoughtful approach to statistical pedagogy. We are particularly seeking a candidate who has an interest in innovative pedagogical practices and strong computational experience to further engage students from diverse academic backgrounds. This position starts July 1, 2022.

This position will be involved in the continued growth of the Statistics Program by developing new courses, especially those that are computation- and application-based in order to meet the growing demand for big data and modern methodology. There will also be an expectation for this position to assist the Data Science graduate program, both in teaching courses and advising students pursuing the Statistical Methodology concentration. This position will also advise undergraduate research projects.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field, or equivalent experience. The preferred candidate will have a passion for college teaching and will demonstrate an interest in innovative statistical pedagogy.
