Assistant Teaching Professor/Lecturer in Math

The Department of Mathematics in The University of Tampa's College of Social Sciences, Mathematics and Education invites applicants for two full-time, non-tenure-track, annually renewable positions as Assistant Teaching Professor/Lecturer beginning August 2022.

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially based private institution of more than 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa's dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area. UT reflects this vibrancy; with 24 consecutive years of enrollment growth UT boasts 260 student organizations, a multicultural student body from 50 states and more than 100 countries, and "Top Tier" ranking in U.S. News and World Report. Qualifications Successful candidates will have at least a master's degree in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics education, statistics, or other related fields. Candidates are expected to have a commitment to excellence in teaching, engaging students in learning beyond the classroom, and university service. The successful candidates must have demonstrated experience in teaching lower-level courses in Mathematics (Introductory Algebra, College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Finite Mathematics, and Calculus for Business). The teaching load is four, 4-credit courses per semester. Faculty may have the opportunity to teach in the summer for additional compensation.
