Assistant Professor in Mathematics

Penn State Behrend invites applications for a tenure-line faculty position in pure mathematics at the Assistant Professor rank to begin August, 2022. Responsibilities will include teaching both lower- and upper-division undergraduate courses in mathematics, commensurate with education and experience. Typically, the base teaching load for tenured and tenure-track faculty is 18 credits per academic year with the potential for some variation.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in mathematics by the start date. At least one year of undergraduate teaching experience is required.

Duties also include maintaining an active research program in pure mathematics, with components which are accessible to undergraduate research students. Faculty members are expected to promote and advance Penn State Behrend's commitment to both teaching and scholarship, to the holistic development of students, and to principles of respect, diversity, and inclusiveness.

Penn State Behrend, is an undergraduate and graduate college of The Pennsylvania State University.
