Ref: 104747-1121 Applications are invited for 2 positions as Postdoctoral Research Fellow, working with David Loeffler and his research group on the ERC-funded research project “Shimura varieties and the Birch¬—Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture”. The aim of this project is to study the arithmetic of Galois representations arising from Shimura varieties, via the techniques of Euler systems, and use these methods to prove new cases of the Bloch—Kato and Birch—Swinerton-Dyer conjectures. We are seeking candidates with strong research potential, and prior familiarity with some or all of the following areas: • Automorphic representations • P-adic automorphic forms and eigenvarieties • Geometry of Shimura varieties It is expected that applicants have, or be about to complete, a PhD in one of these areas. (Successful candidates whose PhD has been submitted, but not formally awarded, at the starting date will be appointed instead as Research Assistant (FA5-26), with automatic promotion to FA6 Research Fellow once their PhD is conferred.) Applications may be submitted through the Warwick Human Resources website. Applications should include the following documents: CV, list of publications, research statement and 2 letters of recommendation. All applicants should ensure that their 2 referees send their references by email to Alison Glendinning (Departmental Secretary), MathematicsPA@warwick.ac.uk, by the closing date.
