The Johns Hopkins University’s Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics invites applicants for one or more positions as Postdoctoral Fellow. Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. prior to their appointment start date, and no later than 12/31/22 and show definite promise in research and teaching. The teaching load will be at most one course each semester, and often as little as one course per year, depending on funding and needs of the department, so that the appointee will have ample time for research. The appointment is for two years, with possibility of renewal, depending on funding availability.

The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with Prof. Maggioni on problems that include: analysis and algorithms on graphs, geometric analysis of high dimensional data sets, dynamic data sets, high-dimensional probability and approximation theory, applications to machine learning, applications to analysis of images, high-dimensional stochastic dynamical systems, model reduction, control. A strong background in analysis, probability, computational mathematics, and at least one of the areas above, is required.
