The Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, at TU Wien, is offering a position as university assistant (Prae-doc) for 4 years for 30hours/week. Expected start: February 2022. Tasks: Research activities (preparing PhD dissertation and research articles) Collaboration in teaching (including evaluations, exams and guidance of students) Participation in scientific events Assistance/Collaboration in organization of events and other administrative tasks

Your profile: Bachelor Degree in Mathematics (preferably) or related field Completion of a Master Degree in Applied Mathematics (preferably, in Variational Analysis) with outstanding marks and research oriented Master Thesis Strong skills in the following scientific fields: Functional Analysis, PDE, Optimization Good communication skills and writing texts in English Strong interest in research and supervision work with students

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,228.70/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
