The Department of Mathematics ( within the Division of Physical Sciences at the University of California, San Diego, is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and invites applications for an Excellence search, which includes tenure-track faculty positions. This is a broad search that is open to applicants from all areas of pure and applied mathematics and statistics. All positions are subject to availability of funding. 

Teaching in mathematics, and related topics, will be expected. Ideally, candidates will have skills and interest in teaching lecture courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. 

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on UC pay scales. The starting date for the position is July 1, 2022.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Demonstrated potential for a recognized program of excellence in both teaching and research. 

Additional qualifications (required at time of start) Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field prior to the first quarter of teaching
