Position Description: A 2 year no-teaching Post-Doctoral position in Mathematics joint with Economics. Specifically in the areas of Probability, Random processes and games on graphs and Opinion dynamics.

Detailed description: Job is academic with a competitive salary (120000 Israeli Shekels/year) and no teaching required, which will allow the scholar to focus on research in a leading university in Israel. The location also offers ample opportunities for interaction and collaboration with researchers in Bar-Ilan and in nearby top institutes in Israel such as Tel-Aviv University and the Weizmann Institute (which are ~30 min away).

Main areas of research: Probability theory, random processes and games on graphs and the interface of probability theory, game theory and economics. Including, but not limited to opinion dynamics models (e.g. majority dynamics, deGroot dynamics and voter models) and social learning on graphs. See the hosts webpages for more info.

Eligibility: Candidates must hold a PhD in mathematics, or expect to be awarded one by the end of 2022. At the time of appointment the candidate must at most 7 years after receiving their PhD.

Terms: The position is for up to two years, preferably starting between June and October 2022. Short-term applications for periods as short as 3 months will also be considered. Position is joint between the departments of Mathematics and Economics. Salary is 120000 Shekels/year and there are no teaching duties. Support for academic travel and other expenses may be available.
