Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics, or in a discipline related to Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science, with at least 3 years of relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level. Applicants with interdisciplinary background, especially with expertise in Optimization, Numerical Analysis, Scientific Computing (including Numerical Linear Algebra and Numerical Methods for ODEs and PDEs) and computer programming are preferred. Proficiency in both English and Chinese, and enthusiasm for teaching are essential. The appointee will mainly teach some core courses for the brand new Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence programme and undertake some administrative duties of the programme. The appointee is also expected to undertake some other teaching and administrative duties of the Department if needed. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Lecturer.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary.
